Summer Registration Is Now Open!

  • All summer classes meet Tuesday through Friday from 10a.m. to 12:30p.m.
    (except Week 2; due to holiday, instead we’ll meet Mon, Wed, Thur & Fri)
  • Location is at the historic Howland Cultural Center in Beacon
  • $110 per session includes all art materials & healthy snack
  • Mixed age classes for kids 6-11; Older kid classes ages 9-13

Art Classes: Art and Animals

Art & Animals June 27-30 (FULL)

Are you wild about animals? Let the world of fur, feathers, and fins be your inspiration while you create unique animal art from observation and imagination. A variety of art materials such as collage, paint, and pastels will be used. This is a mixed age class (6-11)

Art Classes: Art for Older Kids

Art for Older Kids July 3-7* (FULL)

This class is designed for students ages 9-13 who are ready to take on new challenges with their art. They’ll learn about perspective, shading, composition and other ways to bring their art up to the next level. . A variety of drawing and painting media will be used in this class. *No class on July 4

Clay for Older Kids July 11-14

(FULL)

There’s nothing like the feeling of cool, squishy clay on a warm summer day! Kids will learn coil, pinch, and slab construction as well as techniques for surface decoration. This class is open students 9  and older. Returning students will be encouraged to challenge themselves with new projects and techniques designed to reflect their level of mastery. All pieces will be kiln fired.

Clay Creations (6-11yr) July 18-21 (FULL)

Ready Set Paint! August 1-4 

Grab your imaginations and get ready to create large paintings, full of color and self expression! Creating for pleasure is an essential part of childhood, and there is nothing more satisfying and fulfilling for kids than to be able to express themselves freely and without judgment. We will experiment with color mixing, new ways of applying paint, and discover new inspirations for our paintings. Come and express yourself!

Art Classes: Tiny Treasures

Tiny Treasures August 8-11 (FULL)

Learn how to make amazing miniatures such as furniture, food, and room accessories out of everyday objects like bottle caps, buttons, felt, beads & more. The finished creations can be displayed just as they are or they can be incorporated into a diorama style environment made by them. The kids are also encouraged to invent their own ideas for miniature objects, so there’s no end to the creativity this week!
