- Art classes run for five weeks from 4-5:30
- Beacon class location is at the Howland Cultural Center (477 Main Street)
- Cost is $120 per student, per class which includes all materials and fees
- Mixed age classes are designed for ages 6-11 yr; Older kid classes are for age 8 & up (Mature 5 year olds in Kindergarten will be considered for mixed age classes)
Session 1
Clay Creations (Mixed Ages) – Mondays
Mondays: Feb 24, March 2, 9, 16, 23 (This class is FULL)
Learn the basics of everyone’s favorite medium – clay! Clay is a wonderful expressive medium and is ideal for enhancing children’s development on many levels. Students will learn coil, pinch, and slab construction as well as different surface decoration techniques. Returning clay students may choose from new projects. All pieces will be kiln fired. (Mixed ages)
Exploring Drawing & Painting – Thurs.
Thursdays: February 20, 27, March 5, 12, 19 (This class is FULL)
Students will learn various art skills while their imaginations are actively engaged in projects that encourage creativity. They’ll explore a variety of art media such as pencil, pastels, as well as different types of paint, all while learning the basic as well as more experimental approaches to these materials. (Mixed ages)
Session 2
Clay for Older Kids – Tuesdays
Tuesdays: March 24, 31, April 14, 21, 28

Super Sculptures – Wednesdays
Wednesdays: March 25, April 1, 15, 22, 29
Get ready to get creative with wire, cardboard, wood, and more! Bring your imagination and get your creative juices flowing while making expressive, one of a kind works of 3-D art! New projects are being developed for those who have already taken this class. (Mixed ages)
