Summer Mini-Camps
Week 1: Mixing it Up!

July 5-7
Focusing on the concept of color, the kids will create a rainbow of art! They will be working primarily with paint, but will also have the chance to experiment with other types of art media while discovering different ways artists use color. By the session’s end kids will have an understanding of basic color theory. We’ll finish off the last class by creating an edible color wheel! (Mixed Ages)
Week 2: Clay Creations

July 11-14 (FULL)
There’s nothing like the feeling of cool, squishy clay on a warm summer day! Clay is a wonderful expressive medium and is ideal for enhancing children’s development on many levels. Students will learn coil, pinch, and slab construction as well as different surface decoration techniques. All pieces will be kiln fired and glazed. (Mixed Ages)
Week 3: Clay for Older Kids

July 18-21 (FULL)
Designed for older kids (9-13), students enrolled in this class will learn clay basics including coil, pinch, and slab construction, as well as various surface decoration techniques. Project ideas and guided instruction will be available to everyone, however more advanced students are welcome to work on independent projects as well. All projects will be kiln fired and glazed.
Week 4: Mixed Media Sculpture

August 8-11
We’ll create imaginative sculptures by combining familiar materials such as scrap wood, recyclables, broken toys, etc. with basic art supplies like wire, cardboard, and glue. It all begins with a treasure hunt where we choose a variety of objects to transform into a unique work of 3D art. This week is idea for kids who love to build! (Mixed ages)
Week 5: Printmaking Workshop

August 15-18
Students will be introduced to simple and fun printmaking techniques such as foam block printing, mono-printing, and more. They will have the opportunity to experiment freely with the different techniques, creating a variety of multi-colored, textural prints that are sure to be frame worthy. Printmaking is such a fun, immediate, and exciting process! (Mixed ages)
Week 5: Tiny Treasures

August 15-18
We’ll learn how to make amazing miniatures such as furniture, food, and room accessories out of everyday objects like bottle caps, buttons, felt, beads & more. The finished creations can be displayed just as they are or they can be incorporated into a diorama style environment made by them. The kids are also encouraged to invent their own ideas for miniature objects, so there’s no end to the creativity this week! (Mixed ages)
