After School Classes are scheduled to begin in February – look for an email announcement soon 🙂
- Art classes run for five weeks from 4-5:30
- Beacon class location is at the Howland Cultural Center (477 Main Street)
- Cost is $120 per student, per class which includes all materials and fees
- Mixed age classes are designed for ages 6-11 yr; Older kid classes are for age 8 & up (Mature 5 year olds in Kindergarten will be considered for mixed age classes)
Fall 2019: Session 1
Creative Mini Crafts – Tuesdays
Sep. 17, 24, Oct. 1, 8, 15
The emphasis is on creative! Students will make miniature one of a kind objects while exploring a variety of art/crafting materials such as altoid tins, match-boxes, small jewelry boxes, fabric, ribbon, shells, etc. This class is ideal for the crafty kid who has an appreciation for all things small and cute. (This is not the same class as Tiny Treasures although we will be using some of the same materials) (Mixed ages)
Clay Creations – Thursdays (FULL)

Learn the basics of everyone’s favorite medium – clay! Clay is a wonderful expressive medium and is ideal for enhancing children’s development on many levels. Students will learn coil, pinch, and slab construction as well as different surface decoration techniques. Returning clay students may choose from new projects. All pieces will be kiln fired. (Mixed ages)

Thursdays: Oct 24, Nov 7, 14, 21, Dec. 5*
Children will learn various art skills while their imaginations are actively engaged in projects that encourage creativity. They’ll explore a variety of art media such as pencil, pastels, as well as different types of paint, all while learning the basic as well as more experimental approaches to these materials. (Mixed ages) *No class on Oct. 31 and Nov. 28
