- Beacon class location is at the Howland Cultural Center (477 Main Street)
- Cost is $110 per student, per session which includes all materials and fees
- Mixed age classes are for kids 5-11; Older kid classes when offered are for ages 8-13 (5 year olds should be enrolled in or have completed Kindergarten)

Clay Creations
Tuesdays

Learn the basics of everyone’s favorite medium – clay! Clay is a wonderful expressive medium and is ideal for enhancing childrens’ development on many levels. Students will learn coil, pinch, and slab construction as well as different surface decoration techniques. Returning clay students may choose from new projects. All pieces will be kiln fired Ages 5-11

Out of This World Art

Inspiration for this class will come from imaginary creatures and unknown worlds! Kids will unleash their imaginations to create unique works of art inspired by aliens, monsters and robots using a variety of materials such as collage, paint, found objects, and more!

Fabulous Fabric

We will investigate fabric using creative techniques such as batik, stenciling (printing on fabric), and more. Students will work with materials such as ink, paint and try their hand at simple embroidery, if they like, as well as T-shirt and bag design! Fun stuff for crafty kids!

We’ll celebrate the change of seasons by creating art inspired by the sights, patterns, colors, and textures of Autumn. A variety of art materials will be used, including watercolor, pastels, and printing inks.

Printmaking Studio

Students will be introduced to simple and fun printmaking techniques such as foam block printing, monoprinting, and stamping. Through guided exploration, they’ll create a variety of multi-colored, textural prints that are sure to be frame worthy. Printmaking is such a fun, immediate, and exciting process!
