- Location is at Howland Cultural Center in Beacon
- $100 per session includes all art materials & healthy snack
- Mixed age classes for kids 6-11; Older kid classes ages 9-14
Sew Cool July 12-15 (FULL)
Sewing is easy, fun, and useful, and anyone can learn how! After practicing some basic hand sewing skills students will design and create a simple stuffed animal (or monster, perhaps?) uniquely designed by them. Creative embellishments such as sequins, buttons, and simple decorative stitching will add a personal touch. All are welcome, boys and girls alike. Come stitch with us!
Art for Older Kids July 19-22 (FULL)
This class is designed for students ages 9-14 who are ready to take on new challenges with their art. They’ll learn about perspective, shading, composition and other ways to bring their art up to the next level. Armed with these new skills, they will be given opportunities to express themselves freely and exercise their imaginations. Drawing, painting, & printmaking will be primary media used in this class.
Clay Creations July 26-29 (FULL)
There’s nothing like the feeling of cool, squishy clay on a warm summer day! Kids will learn coil, pinch, and slab construction as well as techniques for surface decoration. This class is open to all levels – more advanced students will be encouraged to challenge themselves with projects and techniques designed to reflect their level of mastery. All pieces will be kiln fired…………………….

Ready, Set, Paint! August 9-12 (FULL)
Grab your imaginations and get ready to create large paintings, full of color and self expression! Creating for pleasure is an essential part of childhood, and there is nothing more satisfying and fulfilling for kids than to be able to express themselves freely and without judgment. We will experiment with color mixing, new ways of applying paint, and discover new inspirations for our paintings. Come and express yourself!
